What is Happening in the Search for our Twelfth Bishop?
Several hundred members of our Diocese (lay, ordained, staff) told the Nominating/Search Committee what qualities they seek in a bishop and what issues are important to them by taking the Survey and participating in the Focus/Listening groups this spring. Thank you! But what is happening now? All the comments and information gathered is being added to other descriptive information about our Diocese (structure, finances, ministries, history and culture, etc.) to develop a Profile of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah. When finished (and with approval from the Standing Committee) we have a goal of publishing our Profile online during July. This will introduce our Diocese to potential applicants to be our next bishop throughout The Episcopal Church and applications will be open for three weeks. Stay tuned: we will let you know when and where you can read the Profile (and hopefully suggest that potential applicants you may know look it over and pray to see if this is God’s call to them).
